The Book of Faeces Keeps Growing

They’re Setting Up Shop in Augmented Reality, Negatively Impacting Peoples’ Health & Wellbeing, and Figuring Out How to Read Your Mind

Facebook is fascinating. The tech juggernaut has made a tremendous impact on western society in a very short amount of time. It wields an incredible amount of influence on our lives and culture.

Now, it seems, it is looking to dominate augmented reality before the mouth-breathers understand what “Augmented Reality” is. Snapchat is looking to do the same. If Yelp has a clue, it would be investing in this space as well.

Hey! Did you know that Facebook also causes a decline in people’s health and overall life satisfaction?

It’s also becoming the channel of choice for sick and violent people.

Oh yeah, Facebook is figuring out out how to read your mind.

But, still, it’s a really good tool for staying in touch with people.

Feed Your Demon(s)

For many of us, for many reasons, the old adage rings true: we are our own worst enemy. Despite our best efforts, we can get in our own way in all areas of our lives, putting up boundaries to our own healing, progress and happiness.

Ignoring our inner-demons leads to complacency and stagnation at best. Even if we recognize them, fighting these demons head-on can be a frustrating, counterproductive experience. So what is one to do?

In this Lion’s Roar article, Lama Tsultrim Allione shares an innovative technique for working with our inner-demons, based on the Tibetan Buddhist practice of Chöd.

A guided meditation using this technique is here (it takes about 45 minutes):

Lama Tsultrim Allione offers more in her book, Feeding Your Demons: Ancient Wisdom for Resolving Inner Conflict.
